Photo's of the schools

Principle Mr. Manat in school Huay Nam Yen. The children are having every day lunch in the canteen.

The children of the Free School teacher Nyi having a afternoon nap. The sister of Nyi, called Boum, is working on one of the evening schools in a Lahu village.

This photo is taken at a school in the orange farm Char De Lern with Mem as teacher. Here the children use a big shed as a classroom. These kids are Burmese refugees, Thai- Ai, whose parents are working for next to nothing 7 days a week and long day in the fields. Bad circumstances, but this people are rather safe on farms like this. Any other caught refugee will be send back to the horrors in Burma but because the farmer pays bribes to the police they can stay. The farmer needs them to have cheap labourers.

This photo was taken last December and when we visit the school now there are around 30 children each night!

The main road in Fang. We live a few minutes on the scooter away from the centre. There is a market every Tuesday where the people of Fang gather.

First photo's! not easy...

Views from the lake nearby Moung Choum where Mark lives.
Sorry, can't seem to rotate the photo! This school is a government school in Huay Luwang where the teacher is paid by Free Schools. Sometimes there are classrooms empty and than Free schools can use them. This means that the children actually are part of a normal school and attend the same hours.

Ben, Mark and Wilbert in a school. Most of the teachers do speak a bit of Thai and otherwise there are colleges to help.
